Ms. Roth is a photographer and author specializing in gardening and landscape design -- and an avid life-long gardener. Formerly a senior editor at Western Publishing and an editor at Gardening magazine, Ms. Roth has been a freelance writer and photographer for more than 20 years and during that time worked as a field editor and assignment photographer for Better Homes and Gardens magazine. She studied photography at the Santa Fe Workshops and the International School of Photography in Manhattan. and maintains an extensive stock photography library of garden, plant, and nature images, which are available for licensing for editorial projects, product promotion and advertising. She also accepts photo assignments.

With a bachelor's and a master's degree in horticulture and botany from Cornell University and work experience in the nursery industry, Susan's combination of scientific training, gardening experience and artistic sensibility gives her photography and writing a rare blend of authenticity and creativity. To date, the books she has authored or packaged have more than one and half million copies in print, and her photographs appear regularly in many magazines and books. Ms. Roth's photography and writing have received three awards from the Garden Writers Association of America.
